三大洲著名大學簽訂三邊合作協議
香港科技大學（科大）今日（星期四）與德國卡爾斯魯大學（Universität Karlsruhe）和美國卡內基大學 (Carnegie Mellon University)簽訂協議，加強學術合作和交流。卡爾斯魯大學為德國頂尖的研究型大學，而卡內基大學為美國重點大學，以電腦科學著稱。這次三所來自三大洲的世界一流大學簽訂三邊合作協議，意義重大。
科大校長朱經武教授、卡爾斯魯大學校長 Prof Horst Hippler 和卡內基大學校長 Prof Jared L Cohon 今日共同簽訂協議，展開友好合作新一頁。
朱經武教授致詞時表示，對於今次與來自歐美兩大洲的頂尖大學結盟，感到雙重的光榮和喜悅。
朱教授在會上亦就各大學未來的合作模式分享了他的見解。他說：「全球大學未來的合作模式將會邁向一個新階段—各大學夥伴一方面享有管理自主，同時又受惠於彼此文化上的互融，彼此分享創見。」
根據協定，這三所大學將協力發展研究和教學計劃，就計算機科技和通訊技術加強合作；並會推動學生和教員間的學術交流活動，增廣他們跨越國界和文化上的見聞。
德國卡爾斯魯大學簡介
卡爾斯魯大學現被稱為德國三所重點大學之一，根據德國一份有關職業和經濟刊物“karriere ”的調查結果，卡爾斯魯大以電腦科學、機械工程和商業工程著稱。
美國卡內基大學簡介
卡內基大學建校於一九零零年，連續被US News & World Report 選為美國排名最高的大學之一，其中以文科和科技資訊科目最為著名，並以跨學科和創新的教學方法著稱。
