謝知遙教授榮獲兩項電子設計自動化領域的傑出博士論文獎
香港科技大學（科大）電子及計算機工程學系助理教授謝知遙，最近獲得兩項在電子設計自動化領域享負盛名的博士論文獎。謝教授於2022年6月加入科大，在此前於美國杜克大學修畢計算機工程博士學位，其畢業論文題為「Intelligent Circuit Design and Implementation with Machine Learning」（智能電路設計及以機器學習實踐），當中成就分別獲兩大獎項肯定。
第一個獎項是歐洲設計及自動化協會（European Design and Automation Association）的2023年度傑出博士論文獎。謝教授所獲的獎項屬於「模擬／混合信號、納米級及新興科技的邏輯、實體設計和電腦輔助設計新方向」類別。該獎設有四大類別，每個類別只有一名得獎者。獎項於四月時在比利時舉行的「歐洲設計、自動化和測試會議」（Design, Automation and Test in Europe Conference）上頒發。
第二個獎項是由計算機協會（Association for Computing Machinery，簡稱ACM）頒發的2023年度ACM 電子設計自動化傑出博士論文獎。該獎由ACM的設計自動化特別興趣小組（Special Interest Group on Design Automation）設立，每年表揚一份在電子設計自動化領域中為理論及／或應用作出最重要貢獻的傑出博士論文，將於本年七月在三藩市舉行的設計自動化會議（Design Automation Conference）上頒發。
謝教授是過去20年來第三位同時獲頒此兩項博士論文獎的得主，獎項被視為電子設計自動化領域中極具聲望的博士論文獎。
除了以上兩個獎項，謝教授也憑其合著論文「Rethink before Releasing Your Model: ML Model Extraction Attack in EDA」（發布模型前重新思考：電子設計自動化中的機器學習模型萃取攻擊），與來自杜克大學和德州農工大學的學者於2023年的亞洲及南太平洋設計自動化會議上獲頒「最佳論文獎」。
