IPO Outstanding Community Service Award 2020/21

To recognize Interdisciplinary Programs Office (IPO) students who have demonstrated outstanding service to the university community and/or the community beyond the campus and foster students’ commitment in serving the society, IPO Outstanding Community Service Award 2020/21 was presented to 5 students on 14 May 2021.

Applicants were interviewed and assessed based on the significance and long-term impact of their contributions to the community predominantly during the award year as well as their leadership and organizational abilities.

 

Awardees of IPO Outstanding Community Service Award 2020/21:

 

Akshat BANSAL

Year 3, Dual Degree Program in Technology & Management (T&M-DDP)

Askhat is active in taking leading roles in organizing different activities of community services, entrepreneurship and university outreach. With multiple leadership in various student’s organizations, he frequently devotes himself in promoting HKUST and serving sprites as well as fostering fellow students’ sense of belongings to HKUST.

 

Inika KANDWAL

Year 2, Environmental Management and Technology Program (EVMT)

Inika co-founded “Magic Poshan” in Bangalore, India to help underprivileged children. She uses social media to raise funds and collaborate with other NGOs to help supply food for underprivileged children.

 

LEE, Chi To Ugo

Year 1, Dual Degree Program in Technology & Management (T&M-DDP)

Ugo is passionate in volunteer work involving secondary school students with underprivileged backgrounds in Hong Kong. From outdoors hard work to coaching online, he is adaptive to different kinds of volunteer services.

 

SZE, Kai Tik Kevin

Year 3, Dual Degree Program in Technology & Management (T&M-DDP)

Kevin is active in organizing activities within the HKUST campus and at the outside community. He has dedicated much time and efforts to contribute back to help new arrivals in Hong Kong.

 

WONG, Ka Ying Christy

Year 2, Environmental Management and Technology Program (EVMT)

Christy is proactive to promote green initiative to local community and in international organizations. She joined various environmental organizations to promote conscious citizenship and intersectional sustainability.
