HKUST Management Prof Jiatao Li Named Fellow by Academy of International Business

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology’s School of Business and Management (HKUST Business School) is pleased to announce that Prof Jiatao Li, Senior Associate Dean of the School and Lee Quo Wei Professor of Business, has been elected Fellow of the Academy of International Business (AIB).

Prof Li has made extensive contributions to the field of international business strategy, particularly in Asia. His work focuses on three areas: international expansion and performance; multinational corporate strategy and governance; and joint ventures, top management teams, and knowledge transfer in China. He has 87 publications and his research has been published in premier management and international business journals, several of which have won best paper awards.

Prof Li joined the HKUST Business School in 1997. As a leading expert in global business strategy, he is also Chair Professor and Head of the Department of Management and is committed to leading the department to become a center of excellence for business and management in the region, in terms of both research and teaching.

An active AIB member since 1990, Prof Li has served AIB in many dimensions, including as an incoming Editor of the Journal of International Business Studies, responsible for research on strategy and policy in emerging economies, and as a Co-Chair of the Junior Faculty Consortium at the 2016 AIB meeting, among others.

Established in 1959, AIB is the leading association of scholars and specialists in the field of international business. By nomination, AIB Fellows consist of a select group of distinguished AIB members recognized for their outstanding contributions to the scholarly development of the field of international business or significant contributions to AIB.
