HKIE Scholarships Awarded to Outstanding Engineering Students

Two top engineering students were awarded a Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) Scholarship 2023-24. Another two students, who were the HKIE Scholarship recipients of previous years, also had their scholarships successfully renewed in the 2023-24 academic year.

The two 2023-24 awardees are:

  • Shahman ALI (Class of 2026, BEng in Computer Science)
  • REN Yichen (Class of 2026, BEng in Computer Science)

The two students who had their scholarships renewed in 2023-24 are:

  • Eugene CHEUNG Hon (Class of 2025, BEng in Civil Engineering), a 2022-23 scholarship recipient
  • LAW Cheuk-Him (Class of 2024, BEng in Mechanical Engineering), a 2021-22 scholarship recipient

The HKIE Scholarship scheme aims to recognize the academic achievements of outstanding full-time engineering undergraduate students. Each year, the scholarship is awarded to up to three students who major in HKIE-accredited engineering programs in any local university. Selection criteria include academic results at university, enthusiasm in becoming an engineer, and leadership ability demonstrated in extra-curricular activities and community service. The scholarship grant will be disbursed to the recipients in four instalments at the end of each academic year, contingent upon the fulfilment of specific requirements.
