Faliang Chen (PhD 2000) Received "Sichuan's Distinguished Overseas Returnee" Award

Faliang Chen (PhD 2000), currently a senior researcher in the Institute of Applied Physics and Computational Mathematics, China, received his PhD degree in Mechanical Engieering in 2000 under the supervision of Professor Tongxi Yu. On 28 Oct 2006, Dr. Chen was awarded "Sichuan's Distinguished Overseas Returnee" by the local government of Sichuan Province, China. This was the first time that Sichuan government praised 30 overseas returnees who made significant contribution to the development of the economy and society In recent years, Dr. Chen has published around 30 academic papers in international and Chinese journals; and he is one of the leading scientists in an important national project (4 Nov 2006).
