Experience Day 2021
HKUST Experience Day was held on 10 October 2021 to provide secondary school students an in-person campus experience. The event allowed student to partake in thematic taster lectures, tailored experiential workshops, laboratory visits and demonstration, guided campus and facility tours, alongside with admissions consultation with our admissions officers and students. The event attracted over 1,000 students from more than 200 local secondary schools.
Interdisciplinary Programs Office (IPO) set up admissions consultation booths inside LT-E to answer enquiries about the interdisciplinary undergraduate programs offered by IPO, which include Dual Degree Program in Technology & Management (T&M-DDP), Environmental Management and Technology Program (EVMT), Individualized Interdisciplinary Major Program (IIM) and Extended Majors (Major + X) .
T&M-DDP offered an experiential workshop, “Get ready for a startup with T&M-DDP” hosted by Prof. Betty LIN, Associate Director and UG Coordinator of T&M-DDP. The startup workshop provided students a unique opportunity to explore the process of developing viable business plans for emerging technology. On the other hand, EVMT offered a game workshop, “The Life Cycle of a T-shirt” hosted by Prof. Arthur LAU, Program Director of EVMT. The workshop gave students a taste on how environmental issues can be studied and analysed from multi-angles and how to build up potential solutions with an interdisciplinary approach.
Guests were excited to get a taste of the university school life in-person at HKUST through a series of fun-filling special experiential events. We hope all of the young students find the experience enjoyable and we look forward to seeing you again in campus soon!
