[eNews] Connecting Startups from India and HK for an Engaging Dialogue

Our School joined hands with the Asia Society for the first time to co-organize a luncheon talk entitled “Starting Young, Starting Smart – The Next Dialogue: The Entrepreneurial Bridge between India, HK and China” in early December.

With opening remarks made by Ms Priyanka CHAUHAN, Consul General of India to Hong Kong, and Prof Emily NASON, Associate Dean (Undergraduate Student Affairs) of our School, the event featured eight fast-growing startup founders and seasoned entrepreneurs from India and Hong Kong. The attendees came from many different industries, to talk about their rewarding entrepreneurial journeys and real-world challenges they have faced.

Held on our HKUST Business School Central campus on December 3, the event started with a panel to exchange ideas centered around a few questions: “Why start-up? When shall I start? What is your start-up about?”. It was followed by another panel with a focus on “What is the most difficult task? Scaling up? Growth? Talent?”.

The two panels attracted almost 100 students and alumni, practitioners and burgeoning entrepreneurs, with an interactive dialogue receiving a positive response from the audience. The event has demonstrated the strong interest in “innovation and entrepreneurship” – the DNA of HKUST.
