Eminent Engineering Professors Recognized in HKUST Faculty Recognition Ceremony

The Fifth HKUST Faculty Recognition Ceremony was held on December 1, 2023 to acknowledge and applaud the outstanding research and teaching achievements of the University’s faculty members in the 2022-23 academic year. Among the 24 honorees, nine of them are from the School of Engineering (SENG) or have a joint position in the School. All of them were recipients of prestigious awards and honors or major research funding in the past year, demonstrating their sustained efforts and excellence in research and teaching.

Four short talks were delivered by the honoree professors during the ceremony. These included Prof. Fan Zhiyong who talked about “Acquiring Inspiration from Nature” and Prof. Desmond Tsoi who spoke on “Maximizing Student Potential with Project-Based Learning and Technology in Education”.
