楊晶磊教授獲選為英國皇家化學學會會士
機械及航空航天工程學系楊晶磊教授獲選為英國皇家化學學會會士。該會士頭銜授予在化學領域作出重大貢獻的科學家，這項榮譽表彰了楊教授在材料化學、表面/界面科學、微膠囊合成和多功能複合材料相關領域的成就。
楊教授的研究旨在通過材料創新解決工程問題，當中涉及化學、材料工程、製造以至力學等跨學科領域。他目前的研究領域主要涵蓋利用數據驅動材料基因工程方法來設計和製造仿生多功能複合材料和結構，以應對航空航天、建築和運輸領域的難題。楊教授在這些領域擁有豐富的基礎和應用研究經驗，自2009年以來已完成或領導超過30個政府和業界夥伴資助的項目，內容涵蓋微膠囊合成技術、自修復材料、自清潔納米塗層、節能材料、多功能複合材料和智能製造等領域。
楊教授於2006年在德國凱澤斯勞滕工業大學複合材料研究所獲得博士學位。隨後加入了伊利諾伊大學香檳分校貝克曼研究所擔任博士後研究員。其後，在南洋理工大學任助理教授，並於2016年加入香港科技大學。楊教授於2008年獲德國大學高分子技術教授科學聯盟頒發Wilfried Ensinger獎， 2013年獲授南洋理工大學Koh Boon Hwee學者教育啟發獎，2019年取得由中國工程院頒發的「中國工程前沿傑出青年學者 」榮譽。 2020年，楊教授入選以引文度量標准評核的全球材料學家排名前1%，並於2021年初當選英國皇家航空學會會士。他亦先後擔任《Composites Communications》、《Plastics, Rubber and Composites》、《Functional Composites and Structures》，以及《Journal of Micromechanics and Molecular Physics》等學術期刊的編輯委員會成員或副編輯。目前，他同時兼任港科大（廣州）功能樞紐可持續能源與環境學域署理系主任、港科大－博智林聯合研究院執行院長，以及工程材料及可靠性研究中心主任。
英國皇家化學學會於1841年成立，為國際主要的化學組織，同時亦是歐洲最大的化學團體，致力推動化學科學發展，在全球共有超過50,000名成員。該學會的會士在社群發揮影響力，以其寶貴的經驗、專業及貢獻精神推廣化學科學。
