香港科技大學朴之水教授獲任命為亞洲開發銀行首席經濟學家
菲律賓馬尼拉（2021年9月29日訊）— 亞洲開發銀行（亞行）已任命香港科技大學朴之水教授（Albert Park）為新任首席經濟學家。朴之水先生將于2021年12月15日就職。
作為首席經濟學家，朴之水先生將擔任亞行經濟研究和區域合作局局長，領導亞行的政策研究、區域合作與一體化工作。該局負責編制關鍵分析預測和報告，包括亞行旗艦經濟出版物《亞洲發展展望》。
“新冠疫情和氣候變化正嚴重威脅著亞太地區已取得的顯著發展成就，”朴之水先生表示，“我期待為亞行在長期提供知識和政策建議方面貢獻自己的力量，幫助亞太地區實現綠色、韌性和包容性復蘇”。
朴之水先生為發展經濟學家，在該領域有20餘年的豐富經驗。作為對中華人民共和國（中國）經濟有深刻理解的知名專家，他主持了中國的多個大型研究項目。此外，他還曾任世界銀行國際顧問，以及亞太地區研究型大學人口老齡化中心指導委員會委員。朴之水教授的研究方向涵蓋廣泛的發展議題，包括貧困和不平等、代際流動、小額信貸、移民和勞動力市場、未來工作趨勢和外商投資等。
朴之水教授目前任香港科技大學經濟學講座教授及經濟政策研究中心主任。此前，他曾任香港科技大學新興市場研究所創始所長、牛津大學教授和密西根大學副教授。他還曾在多家領先的經濟期刊擔任編輯職務。
亞行在堅持消除極端貧困的同時，致力於實現繁榮、包容、有適應力和可持續的亞太地區。亞行成立於1966年，現有68個成員，其中49個來自亞太地區。
