Information Session for the New Major: Individualized Interdisciplinary Major

IPO will launch a new major - Individualized Interdisciplinary Major (IIM) in academic year 2016/2017. An information session for students was held on 21 Sep 2015.

IIM offers a non-traditional, cross-School academic pathway for exceptional Hong Kong and international students with the vision, talents and character to create their own study program.  IIM students have the academic freedom to combine courses from different departments and Schools at HKUST, and even different universities, to develop an interdisciplinary major tailor-made to their intellectual interests. It is the first of its kind in Greater China Region.

Program Director, Prof. King L. CHOW introduced the new major to the students at the information session and welcomed students who had any new idea and interest in special major to talk with him. Prof. CHOW will access the possibility initially and identify relevant faculty to further develop the study proposal with the students if feasible.
