科大圖書館舉辦全港首個綜合資訊坊國際研討會
全球逾十個國家有關圖書館資訊的專家學者，今天雲集香港科技大學（科大），參與由科大李兆基圖書館舉辦的全港首個綜合資訊坊國際研討會，大家分享綜合資訊坊的發展經驗，與研討資訊坊未來發展的新趨勢。
科大李兆基圖書館於去年9月成立一個嶄新的綜合資訊坊，在圖書館內，營造一個理想的學習環境和空間，利用最新的資訊科技，向圖書館使用者提供個人、以至小組所需的學習支援，包括提供空間讓小組進行研討、簡報；提供最新的計算機軟件，支援使用者進行學習及製作教與學材料。綜合資訊坊投入服務後，備受使用者，尤其是學生的歡迎。
在資訊坊運作一周年，科大李兆基圖書館特舉辦全港首個有關綜合資訊坊的國際研討會，與會主講嘉賓包括美國布朗大學（University of Brown）圖書館長Harriette Hemmasi 、澳洲維多利亞大學（Victoria University）副校長Belinda McLennan、該校圖書館長Philip Kent、學習支援總監Mr Tom Finnigan、語言服務總監David Donald以及英國格拉斯哥利多尼安大學圖書館數碼服務的Iain Wallace。與會專家不約而同表示，綜合資訊坊是圖書館發展的大趨勢。
研討會在科大利榮達演講廳舉行兩天（12月10至11日），大家分享綜合資訊坊服務的經驗。出席研討的各地專家學者分別來自澳洲、紐西蘭、加拿大、英國、捷克、中國、馬來西亞、新加坡、台灣及卡塔爾等。
