科大與金融發展局舉辦論壇 探討金融服務業就業機遇
香港科技大學工商管理學院（科大商學院）及金融發展局（金發局）於十月五日聯合主辦論壇，讓學生進一步認識金融服務業各種就業機會。
論壇的主題為「投身金融服務業」，是金發局「業界人士講座系列」的第五項活動，旨在為年輕畢業生和大專學生提供指導，讓他們為投身金融業作好準備。論壇約有一百名學生出席，與金融專才共同探討金融服務業的就業前景。
論壇的主講嘉賓為摩根大通香港地區高級主管兼亞太區管理委員會成員Andrew Butcher。他與學生分享其個人事業的經歷，亦講解了本地和區內金融服務業的最新發展，以及這些發展如何重塑市場對新一代金融專才的要求。
Andrew Butcher發言時指出，金融業是香港的經濟支柱之一，在本地共聘用了約二十三萬名金融從業員，為畢業生提供大量工作機會。隨着金融服務業對優秀年輕畢業生的需求日益殷切，他鼓勵在場學生提升對行業的認知和相關技能，以便將來在金融服務業大展拳腳。
科大商學院院長及Michael Jebsen商學教授邢吉天教授亦在論壇上致歡迎辭，他表示香港能持續鞏固作為國際金融中心的地位，實在有賴有志的年輕人，他認為大學與金發局的協作計劃發展路向正確，成功建立了一個經驗分享的平台，為香港培育更多金融專才。
香港特別行政區政府於二零一三年成立的金發局，為一個高層次及跨界別的諮詢機構，旨在就如何推動香港金融業的更大發展及金融產業策略性發展路向，徵詢業界並提出建議。金發局的「業界人士講座系列」是該局和本地大學舉辦的協作計劃。來自金融服務業的多名嘉賓在一系列講座上，與各院校的大學生分享發展金融事業的各項資訊和所需技能。
