推動香港未來科學家
世界競爭日益激烈，要爭取優勢並保持競爭力，高度創作力的頭腦、批判性思考及分析能力缺一不可。為了鼓勵香港小科學家超越課本知識，並透過學生的解難能力展現自己對生物學的知識，科大舉辦以本地中四及中五學生為對象的生物學比賽：香港中學生物奧林匹克（HJKJSBO）。
HJKJSBO委員會由科大周敬流教授及一群熱心的大學教授和中學教師組成，活動旨在讓香港學生運用自己的觀察力及邏輯力，推論出合理的科學結論。周教授解釋：「HKJSBO按照國際生物奧林匹克模式進行，我們深信比賽為學生提供一個靈活互動的學習平台。」委員會亦希望比賽中獨特而具挑戰性的難題，能夠刺激及啟發學生對科學的追求，並以此作為未來專業。
比賽始於去年11月，吸引近500名來自60間中學的學生參加；經過兩輪賽程及一系列工作坊，最後勝出的4位參賽者除了獲得獎盃及書劵，更將會在暑假跟隨教授進行生物研究。透過參與這項生物奧林匹克，所有的學生都贏得難忘的體驗！
