Start-up "Pear Limited" founded by HKUST alumnus Alan Chong has been listed in top 3 of Venture 50 NewSeed List 2018
Congratulations to the startup “Pear Limited”, for being listed as top 3 in Venture 50 (Top 50 most investment-worthy company in China) NewSeed List 2018 (2018 中國創業武林大會新芽榜50強).
As China’s first enterprise appraisal event in the investment dimension, Venture 50 has accompanied China’s equity investment market for a whole 13 years and has thus been honored as “Industry Investment Bellwether”. After being assessed in the dimensions of adaptability, feasibility, creativity and the standard of operation, Pear Limited has been listed on its Newseed List, being one of the top 50 most valuable investment Companies in China.

Pear Limited focuses on the next generation fog computing technology that enables billions of smart devices to easily share computing, storage and bandwidth resources.
Among tons of its prizes, the company has won the First Prize of “HKUST One Million Dollar International Entrepreneurship Competition (Tencent Cloud Session)” in 2018. Its project has been selected as Gitee Most Valuable Project. It gained the Most Innovative Startup Award of Jumpstarter last year. In the 2017 China Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition (Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan), the First Prize & the Most Potential Development Award all went to the the company. The company also made it to the top 10 in the 2018 Win In Dongguan Global Big Data Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. Additionally, it was the recipient of the “Yeung Wing Yee Entrepreneurs Fund” given by Entrepreneurship Center in 2016/17 academic year which has been helpful to the start-ups to cover some expenses of the routers that were used at an early stage and to further develop their product.
Alan Chong (庄奇东), CEO and founder of Pear Limited, is an alumnus of HKUST who studied in the MPhil Technology Leadership and Entrepreneurship (TLE) program. He has recently been elected to be one of the elites on the Forbes China 30 Under 30 List 2018 and also the Fortune China 40 Under 40 List 2018. These days he has also been included in the Hurun 30 x 30 Entrepreneurship Leaders 2018. Humbly as he said: “There are still much more to be done.
