科大工學院院長獲頒傑出電機及計算機工程師獎
香港科技大學（科大）工學院院長李德富教授於9月10日獲得美國普渡大學頒發崇高的2010傑出電機及計算機工程師獎。
該榮譽獎項是頒發予普渡大學電機及計算機工程學院的傑出校友，以表揚他們透過領導的角色在經濟和科技發展方面作出重大貢獻。
每年的數名得獎者均從逾二萬名的校友中選出。至目前，僅有約180位校友獲頒此殊榮。今年的得獎者中，只有李教授來自美國以外的地區。
李教授說：「我獲得普渡大學頒發工程師獎，覺得非常榮幸。該大學的工程學院在過去一直躋身全美國前十名。」
李教授於美國普渡大學取得學士、碩士及博士學位，主修電機工程。他於1993年加入科大。李教授是電機及電子工程學會（IEEE）院士，該會是全球最大致力於科技發展的專業學會。他現時並擔任IEEE通訊協會副會長。
