高等研究院東亞銀行教授鄧青雲教授獲頒2019 年京都賞(先進科技)
日本稲盛財團宣佈頒發2019 年京都賞(先進科技)予高等研究院東亞銀行教授鄧青雲教授，表揚他在發明有機發光二極管及其相關應用中所作的創新貢獻。京都賞是該財團頒發的年度獎項，以表彰於先進科技、基本科學、藝術及哲學領域中，獲得世界性傑出成就的人士。
自該獎於1985年成立以來，鄧教授是首位香港出生的華裔學者榮獲此項殊榮。每位獲獎得主均可獲贈一張獎狀、一枚20K金京都賞獎牌，及一億日元獎金。京都賞頒贈儀式將於2019年11月10日於日本京都舉行。
