羅康錦教授獲委任為工學院院長
羅康錦教授獲委任為工學院院長，任期由2023年1月1日開始。
羅教授服務科大多年，現任土木及環境工程學系講座教授及極智慧城市研究院創始主任。他於1991年在俄亥俄州立大學取得土木工程博士學位，及後任職於美國橡樹嶺國家實驗室及加州大學柏克萊分校。他於1996年加入科大成為土木及結構工程學系助理教授，2001年晉升為副教授，2007年晉升為正教授，再於2014年擢升為講座教授。
羅教授是智慧交通系統、智慧城市和可持續發展的傑出學者。他為香港研發了首個基於代理的動態交通模型，該模型已被業界採納及應用於網絡服務規劃；他就設置交通燈號迴旋處的研究也獲業界採納推行。羅教授對本地的學術研究環境有深入了解，而且積極與政府和業界協作。他現時擔任《Transportmetrica B: Transport Dynamics》的創始主編，也是《Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems》的行政編輯。 羅教授屢獲殊榮，包括每三年舉辦一次、享負盛名的世界交通研究大會大獎，以及工學院頒發的卓越研究獎。羅教授熱心教育，至今已三度榮獲工學院的教學嘉許獎，以表揚他對本科及研究生教學的貢獻。
羅教授擁有豐富的學術行政經驗，在科大歷任多個重要行政職位，包括工學院副院長（本科生教務）（2011-2015年）、土木及環境工程學系系主任（2015-2021年）、 極智慧城市研究院創始主任（自2018年起）、「可持續發展智慧校園」計劃學術主任（自2019年起），以及多個各級委員會的主席。羅教授具備出色的學術領導才能、卓越的行政經驗，加上非常熟悉工學院及科大，是加入高層管理團隊的理想人選，他將引領工學院再創佳績。
