国家科技部支持香港科技大学成立高等研究院
香港科技大学校长朱经武教授于本月上旬访问中国国家科学技术部，与科技部副部长尚勇会面，双方就如何进一步加强内地与香港的科技合作与交流，进行了深入会谈，科技部并表示支持科大成立高等研究院。
国家科学技术部发表网上新闻公布指出，尚勇副部长称赞朱经武校长在高温超导研究领域和发展上，取得辉煌成就。他说：「朱校长在高温超导的研究，是华人科学家的巨大荣誉。科大在短短十几年间，跃升为世界知名大学，令人钦佩。」
朱经武教授则向尚勇副部长介绍了科大创建高等研究院的情。朱教授称：「科大致力吸引全球顶尖人才，拓展最尖端的知识领域。我希望跟内地的相关机构，进行广泛的合作和交流，以及进一步获得科技部的支持。」
在会面中，尚勇副部长还向朱教授介绍了《 国家中长期科学和技术发展规划纲要（2006-2020年）》、国家科技规划、重鲇实业室建设、以及内地与香港近年来在基础研究、应用研究等领域上取得的成果。
他指出，香港国际信息流通，跟国际科技界有密切和广泛联系，在科技合作方面具有较好的本地优势，特别是在国家提出自主创新战略的形势下，香港将会发挥更大作用，科技部愿意为香港的科技发展及经济建设，提供必要的帮助和服务。
基础研究司叶玉江副司长、中国科技交流中心赵新力副主任等亦参加了是次会面。
