科大工学院院长获颁杰出电机及计算机工程师奖
香港科技大学（科大）工学院院长李德富教授於9月10日获得美国普渡大学颁发崇高的2010杰出电机及计算机工程师奖。
该荣誉奖项是颁发予普渡大学电机及计算机工程学院的杰出校友，以表扬他们透过领导的角色在经济和科技发展方面作出重大贡献。
每年的数名得奖者均从逾二万名的校友中选出。至目前，仅有约180位校友获颁此殊荣。今年的得奖者中，只有李教授来自美国以外的地区。
李教授说：「我获得普渡大学颁发工程师奖，觉得非常荣幸。该大学的工程学院在过去一直躋身全美国前十名。」
李教授於美国普渡大学取得学士、硕士及博士学位，主修电机工程。他於1993年加入科大。李教授是电机及电子工程学会（IEEE）院士，该会是全球最大致力於科技发展的专业学会。他现时并担任IEEE通讯协会副会长。
