Secondary 6 Students Introduced to Multifaceted Field of Engineering on Engineering Exploration Day 2024
The Engineering Exploration Day 2024, hosted by the School of Engineering (SENG) on May 11, 2024, welcomed hundreds of Secondary 6 students who put SENG programs as a Band A choice in JUPAS to explore the multifaceted field of engineering as well as life at HKUST.
In addition to JUPAS interview, the full-day event included an admissions talk by Associate Dean of Engineering (Undergraduate Studies) Prof. WANG Yu-Hsing, a talk on AI-powered healthcare for aging by Prof. Desmond TSOI of Computer Science and Engineering, consultation by faculty members, sharing by Engineering Student Ambassadors from all six departments, as well as various competition showcases by the HKUST Robotics Team, HKUST RoboMaster Team ENTERPRIZE, and AI-application demonstrations by the newly-established Hong Kong Generative AI Research and Development Center under the Hong Kong government’s InnoHK initiative.
The Engineering Exploration Day, held twice a year in May and November respectively, aims to help JUPAS applicants to become familiar with life as a SENG student, and aware of how engineering has impacted the society and what the next significant breakthroughs may be.
