The Jessie & George Ho Charitable Foundation Donates HK$ 5 Million to HKUST
The Jessie & George Ho Charitable Foundation has donated HK$ 5 million to the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) to support its development.
The donation will be used to establish the "Commercial Radio 50th Anniversary Scholarship" to support needy students from less affluent regions/cities of Mainland China and nurture other meritorious students of Hong Kong.
HKUST President Tony F Chan expressed his deep appreciation for the generous donation made by the Jessie & George Ho Charitable Foundation, and for the Foundation's significant contribution to the higher education sector.
About Mr George Ho and the Jessie & George Ho Charitable Foundation
Mr George Ho set up in 1959 Commercial Radio Hong Kong, which has throughout the years been one of the main broadcast media in Hong Kong. Mr George Ho and Mrs Jessie Ho have been actively participating in community activities through the Jessie & George Ho Charitable Foundation. The late Mrs Jessie Ho was renowned for her great enthusiasm in volunteering for the Hong Kong Red Cross for 30 years.
