HKUST Up 30 Places in Global Reputation Rankings in One Year
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is pleased with Times Higher Education's 2012 World Reputation Rankings, placing it between 61 and 70 in the world, up significantly from 91 and 100 last year.
HKUST's rise in ranking underlines the University's dedicated pursuit of excellence in teaching and research. It is a welcome recognition of the University's successful efforts at internationalization, widening students' horizons and recruiting global talents to elevate its quality of teaching and research.
The University does not pursue rankings per se, but they are helpful in reviewing our progress and an encouragement to further improvements.
More importantly, we hope that our continued pursuit of excellence in education and research will translate into social and economic development for our community.
