Get-Together Session with Donor of Wong Chak Chui Charitable Foundation Scholarships

Representatives of Wong Chak Chui Charitable Foundation Mr. Ryan WONG and Mr. Roland WONG, came to campus on November 2 to meet the recipients of Wong Chak Chui International Enrichment Scholarship and Wong Chak Chui One-Belt-One-Road Enrichment Scholarship. The get-together was joined by Prof. Wei SHYY, President; Prof. Sabrina LIN, Vice-President for Institutional Advancement; Prof. King L. CHOW, Acting Dean of Students; Prof. Emily M. NASON, Associate Dean (Undergraduate Student Affairs) of School of Business and Management; Dr. Tony W. L. LAM, Associate Dean of Students and Head of Scholarships and Financial Aid Office; and Ms. Daisy CHAN, Director of Development and Alumni Office.

The Wong Chak Chui International Enrichment Scholarship was established in 2015 to support students in the School of Business and Management and Interdisciplinary Programs Office with financial needs to participate in international enrichment programs. 85 students in total have benefited from the scheme over the years.

In order to encourage students to reach out to One Belt One Road countries, the Wong Chak Chui Charitable Foundation made a new pledge in academic year 2017/18 to set up the Wong Chak Chui One-Belt-One-Road Enrichment Scholarship to help students defray the costs of participating in academic exchange programs, internship, competitions, conferences and community projects in Belt and Road countries.

Three students shared their exchange experiences and expressed their gratitude to the Foundation. Mr. Ryan WONG and Mr. Roland WONG congratulated the students for their academic achievement and encouraged them to keep striving for excellence in their future endeavors.
