“AI for Business” – 2023 Summer Technology & Management International Business Plan Competition (IBPC) in Hamburg, Germany
Artificial Intelligence is undeniably an irreversible trend with far-reaching implications for society, technology, and the economy. Its impact is expected to grow exponentially in the coming years. How might we use Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning to create a startup business that is customer desirable, financially viable and technically feasible?
After a 2-year hiatus, 2023 Summer Technology & Management International Business Plan Competition (IBPC) was held at Hamburg, Germany with the theme “AI in Business”.
Travelling together with Prof. Betty LIN, Associate Director of Dual Degree Program in Technology and Management (T&M-DDP), and Prof. Chi Ming CHAN, Co-founder of T&M-DDP, 16 T&M-DDP students joined the 10-day intensive competition and formed 8 mixed teams with students from the University of Bayreuth in Germany, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in the USA, and National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan.
They conducted field research including visits to the Artificial Intelligence Center Hamburg and the headquarters of Lufthansa Technical Training, as well as received daily coaching by faculty and subject matter experts during the trip.
Leveraging artificial intelligence or machine learning, each team presented the innovative business idea they had developed at the pitch competition. Congratulations to the top 3 winning teams “Dermassistant”, “Yum.AI” and “Digi Dive” for their achievements in their business plans!
