香港科技大学获田家炳基金会捐赠支持「小朋友@科大」科学及数学工作坊
香港科技大学(科大)获田家炳基金捐款，支持「小朋友@科大」科学及数学工作坊。科大日前举办开幕典礼，田家炳基金会董事局主席田庆先先生、科大副校长(大学拓展)翁以登博士和理学院资优教育发展中心教育发展组总监杨霖龙教授担任主礼嘉宾。
田家炳基金会一直以来热心支持科大，今年已经是第二年赞助低收入家庭小学生参加「小朋友@科大」科学及数学工作坊。基金会过去曾多次慷慨捐助，支持科大的发展，成立 「田家炳基金会访问学人计划」，推动科大与内地大学的学术交流，以及成立「田家炳教育基金」，资助内地年轻和有潜质的「青年研究员」来到香港科技大学赛马会高等研究院，协助驻院教授从事教研工作。
「小朋友@科大」科学工作坊為科大理学院教育发展组多年来主办的一个科普发展项目，為期一天的工作坊由教授设计，以小学生為对象。活动内容围绕科学和数学，并结合简单的实验，以增加学生们对学习科学的动机及兴趣。参加者以小组形式在科大学生指导下进行活动，藉以增强他们的沟通技巧和培养互相合作的精神。
