Pioneering Innovation in Display Technology Jointly Developed by Nankai University and HKUST

According to recent reports on China Education and Research Network, Nankai University and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) have jointly developed a 5-inch, full color active matrix organic light emitting diode (AMOLED) display - the first of its kind in China. Prof Hoi Sing Kwok and Prof. Man Wong of Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at HKUST, took part in this research project under the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology 863 Program.

The distinguished technology is considered by the China Ministry of Education as a pioneering innovation of global standing. It can be widely used in various portable information terminals, such as mobile phones, digital cameras, personal digital assistants (PDAs), car TVs and the likes.
