Dr James KWOK Received IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks Outstanding 2004 Paper Award (Bestowed in 2006) from The IEEE Computational Intelligence Society
The IEEE Computational Intelligence Society recently awarded Dr James KWOK and his PhD student, Ivor Wai-Hung TSANG, with the IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks Outstanding 2004 Paper Award (bestowed in 2006) for the paper, The pre-image problem in kernel methods, IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks,Vol. 15, pp. 1517-1525, 2004.
The award is to recognize annually the outstanding paper published in the IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks two years prior to the Award decision. Papers published in 2010, for example, will be eligible for consideration in 2012. The judging is based upon general quality, originality, contribution, subject matter, and timeliness.
Dr. KWOK is currently serving as Associate Editors for the IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and the Neurocomputing journal. In 2006, he is co-organizing the Joint IAPR International Workshops on Structural and Syntactic Pattern Recognition (SSPR 2006) and Statistical Techniques in Pattern Recognition (SPR 2006). He is also the Workshop Chair of the International Conference on Pattern Recognition (ICPR 2006) and the Tutorial and Workshop Chair of the International Conference on Neural Information Processing (ICONIP 2006).
