最亮的星！港科大（广州）体育场馆闪耀夜空
我校运动场馆接近完工。昨日深夜，学校体育场馆外部的灯光设备进行试亮灯。
运动场的跑道附近，香港科技大学（广州）的简称“HKUST(GZ)”如夜空中最亮的星一般醒目。据了解，我校是内地首个在学校体育馆及主要建筑室外空间安装发光字体的高校。
作为“运动村”重要的组成部分，我校运动场馆分为体育馆和室外体育场（含看台）。体育馆总建筑面积为14953.67平方米，内设恒温游泳池、健身室、篮球场、壁球场、攀岩墙等运动设施。
体育场看台总建筑面积1619平方米，设有超过700个看台座位。
本次亮灯的主场地是体育场中心的田径场。田径场包含八条主跑道、十条110米直跑道、一个标准尺寸的人造草坪足球场，整体设置满足全国各种级别的田径比赛。
运动场馆是挥洒青春汗水、激发师生活力的重要场所。据了解，我校运动场馆预计八月下旬正式投入使用。
