HKUST Welcomed Visitors from The Hong Kong Jockey Club

On Dec 12, HKUST welcomed The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) delegation, led by HKJC Chairman Mr. Anthony W K CHOW and Mr. Leong CHEUNG, Executive Director for Charities and Community, for a campus visit.

HKUST Court Chairman Dr. John C C CHAN and President Prof. Wei SHYY received the delegation and shared with them the latest education and research development of the University. The guests were introduced the University’s initiatives including the Sustainable Smart Campus and aging research, and visited the newly built facilities such as the Dream Team Open Lab and the Integrative Systems and Design Studio (ISD Studio).

The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust is the first and biggest donor of HKUST. Starting from the construction of HKUST with a donation  of over HK$1.9 billion in the 1990s, the HKJC continuously supports HKUST through various scholarship schemes, research programs and construction projects, which is instrumental and vital to HKUST in nurturing young talents, as well as contributing to the scientific research and development of Hong Kong.
