Prof Hong K Lo Elected as Convener of International Scientific Committee of a Top Transportation Conference Series

Prof Hong K Lo, Associate Dean of Engineering and Professor of Civil Engineering, has been elected as Convener of the International Scientific Committee of the triennial Conference Series International Conference for Advanced Systems for Public Transportation (CASPT) from 2012 onward, succeeding Prof Nigel Wilson of MIT, a world-renowned public transportation expert. CASPT is the most prestigious conference series in public transportation, with a distinguished history of close to 40 years. Previous CASPT conferences were held in Santiago, Chile, 2012; Hong Kong, 2009; Leeds, UK, 2006; San Diego, US, 2004; Berlin, Germany, 2000; Boston, US, 1997; Lisbon, Portugal, 1993; Montreal, Canada, 1990; Hamburg, Germany, 1987; Montreal, Canada, 1983; Leeds UK, 1980; Chicago, US, 1975. Prof Lo also successfully brought the conference series to Hong Kong in 2009, first time ever for Asia.
